Chevrolet Corvette Lemon Law Case Study
Persistent Water Intrusion and Body Defects on a New Chevrolet Corvette
Our client purchased a new Chevrolet Corvette from Morgan Chevrolet in Florida with only 3 miles at delivery. Almost immediately after purchase, the vehicle developed persistent water intrusion and body integrity defects requiring four dealer visits over approximately seven months — with the dealership ultimately indicating it could not further resolve the water leak.
Documented Repair Visits
December 9–31, 2024 (23 days)
Water was found in both headlamp assemblies. A seat belt would not retract. A scratch was present on the lower part of the driver door panel. No repairs were performed during this visit — the repair order was closed to meet year-end deadlines.
January 8–30, 2025 (23 days)
The vehicle was returned for the same issues. The dealer found no moisture in the headlamps after washing the vehicle and could not replicate the seat belt concern. The door scratch was not addressed. A sticking armrest button was diagnosed as a faulty latch assembly — the actuator inside the center console lid was replaced.
April 15 – May 3, 2025 (19 days)
Water was leaking into the cabin. The dealer replaced the windshield in an attempt to fix the leak. The water problem persisted after the repair.
May 13 – June 20, 2025 (39 days)
The vehicle was returned for continued water leakage. The dealer replaced the seal. An email dated June 18 confirmed the leak remained after the seal replacement. The dealer offered our client the option to pick up the vehicle or leave it at the dealership — signaling no further repair attempts would be made.
Why This Chevrolet Corvette Qualified as a Lemon
